loooking to get  mk2 vr6 now, has 110k on the clock of the mk3 dials, thr car has 105k, he has proff of both mk2 and the mk3 donar car millage and service histroy of both cars.  suspention and everything is done to top quality.  only think i am worried about are

1.  its not been told to the dvla, i am going to do this will that cause me problems (ie engneers report)

2.timing chain look a pig to do as the 'box has to be removed, any major problems with these>

any other help would be brill thankyou

ps how much should it be worth?   1991 in the rare blue metalic colour in mint condition!

yeah timing chains are a pig, only done them once but its not a quick job, sooooo much has to be removed to get to it. sorry don't know much about what to do in regards to the dvla.

I don't think you will need an engineers report to change the engine on the V5, but if you don't and you crash then your insurance will be invalid. Have a look at the V5 as it will have notes with it on what is required to be filled in on each section. There's probably an FAQ on the DVLA's website if you get really stuck, or just ring them.

cheers, thank you for your help, i have got the car and it is fantastic.  i love been back behind the wheel of a golf!!  little bit different to the first 1.3 mk 2 golf i had tho!!!
