Title: urgent help needed

hi all

Im new on here, i have a mk4 golf gttdi. I have had an accident in my car regarding the interior.
My mate spilt some battery acid on my front passenger seat.
He has agreed to pay for the damage and i was just wondering if anyone knows where i can get some material or a cheap seat from.

I have someone who can fit the material etc.

I have been in touch with vw and they can supply me with a seat swab for £124 + vat which i personally think is expensive.

my golf is an 02 and the interior is black and grey cloth.

so i am after a cheaper option if possible.

any help would be great if u could point me in the right direction

normally loads of sets going on there or alternatively try your local scrappys :afro:

make sure you get the correct one as the airbag plugs (assuming you have side airbags) changed around the 51 / 02 plates

hi thanks for your reply. i have been keeping an eye on ebay for a while.

Does anybody else have any ideas.

does anybody no any specialist vw car breakers or scrappies.

to recommend scrapyards we'd have to know where you are.

I can recommend a couple in Nottingham and one in London.

ok, so, quick search on Yell.com for the details, these are one's I used:

what happens if a car is in a compound, and is owned by the insurance company after a crash.
what happens to tht car can u buy anythin off that car?

I think both open on saturday morning at least, I'm sure I've been there on a weekend before. Best to check, though, give em a call.

I'm bristol based - this is the thing but half of my family are nottingham via my mum's moving form there to bristol.

Up there at the end of july as well, so hoping to get a peek  :wink:
