I use search option but I didn'n find answer
My local VW car dealer have ED30 for immediately delivery but without DSG, navi, xsenon,..and another dealer have GTi 200hp with DSG, navi, xenon,..but first dealer told me that engine in ED30 is much better then "old" 200hp.
He told me that engine in E30 is detuned engine from Audi S3 with different engine block, larger injectors etc,..so I can easily tune it to 280+hp, so old 2.0TFSi with 200hp is much worse option. Is it true?
What are differences between VW Golf 2.0 TFSI with 200hp and ED30 with 230hp, beside black rims and stickers?
Thnx.

GTI spec here;

Ed 30 spec here:
http://www.vw.co.uk/new_cars/golf_gti30/standard_spec
Personally, as a GTI owner  I would go for the biggest spec I could find/afford - DSG, SatNav, Xenon are all desirable extras. I drive a manual though, prefer it that way.
Bottom line is down to you. Test drive both cars back to back, then negotiate hard for a discount. You might get something off a GTI but maybe not with the Ed 30.
But with your head, not your heart. If you were to spec up a new car, what options would you want. Once you've decided, then you will be closer to an answer.
Oh, and Good Luck

Yes, the differences are as you have described - I bought the edition 30 for this reason, so to then apply the bluefin superchip - see http://www.superchips.co.uk/roadtest/VW%20Driver%20May07%20Golf%20GTI%20Edition30.PDF

Yes it is correct re. engine. You can chip the ED30 engine easily above 300bhp! The differences apart from what you mentioned are body coloured rear bumper and side skirts and new front spoiler, tinted R32 clusters, half leather/cloth seats with red stitching and heated as standard (very nice), red stitched steering wheel, handbrake and gear knob, golf ball style gear knob (or the pimply knob as its known!) red edged floor mats, and thats about it. The wheels are silver BBS style in the UK not black monzas, I assume you live outside UK? Welcome anyway! Hope that helps!

Or of course there is the R32

i went for the e30 because. 1) i didnt like the un colour coded bits on the gti, 2) the extra power, 3) i could afford too. (just)
plus the extras are nice, i believe the seats might be a tad different too? not sure, but i think there is a difference somewhere.. half leather is great, i wouldnt want full leather, but with half you have the best of both worlds

Leather/cloth seats in ed30 looks much better, but there is only few cars for immediate delivery , and dealer doesn't have ED30 with DSG, only with manual shifter and without xenons and navigation

Its better to wait and get the car you actually want, than take one thats ready just for the sake of it!
Any extras you add to the car wont be worth a penny extra when it comes time to sell it... so think wisely.
A lot of people here have ordered their car with the standard stereo and bought the Sat Nav unit from a guy on eBay for about £400 - then fitted it themselves (very simple step by step instructions on here)... saving about £1500.
I could have picked up an Ed30 immediately - but it wasnt the spec I wanted... so I waited 14 weeks and got it my way!

i think some of the extras will help the cars resell value.
in several years most cars will be being sold with xeons, most people just dont know what they are at the moment, if they did they would want them.
also other things like highline comp (again if known what it is) will be wanted.
arm rest is a wanted item..

Unfortunately most car dealers etc go by a book price - which doesnt account for Sat Nav, Xenons, Leather etc.
Perhaps some of the items may get a little bit more for... but I cant really see a dealer giving you an extra £30 for having a highline computer and an extra £50 for having an arm rest

I went into a VW dealers recently, (god knows why) and enquired about a trade in, and they DO take into the extras, on their list it asks for what extras are fitted and it put the price up on mine by £1600, dealers find it an easy way on conning people, if its a car they can resale themselves and not put it to auction like most part ex's of different makes. Thats why their 2nd hand GTi's are worth different values on their own forecourts. TOTAL BOLLOX. DONT BE FOOLED

I know, and I will do it. Tornado red ed30 with "18 black detroit :)
Although GTI that I can buy immediately is also very nice; perl black GTi 200hp with DSG, "18 detroit, navigation/dvd, climatronic, mirrors II pack, parking sensors, tinted,...for 21800GBP, and I get for free 3 years hull insurance, 300GBP on credit car for gasoline and 2 nights free hotel in one of European capitals.
DSG is "deal breaker", xenon lights are important but I can buy after market xenons, only that difference between GTi 200hp and ED30 was question.

Yes, but also buyers think that way so they won't to buy car without additional items like xenons, "18 rims, dvd/navi,..because they think (hope) that for few hundred pounds more they can buy car with full options.
For example, few years ago ('01/'02) air conditioning was option on lots of cars, today you can't sell car without air condition.
*black detroit "18 rims look awful on pictures, like someone steal wheels covers, but IRL they look perfect
