Other than the "running in procedure" I've not read my car manual and I'm discovering the little treasures in traffic jams etc.
My rear wiper came on today because it was raining and I was reversing.
Did I accidentley knock the stork with my erect member or have I discoverd another little feature?
Also the DSG box, don't get me wrong I love it, but I still didn't feel as though I was in total control because when you overide the automatic using the paddles, after a couple of mins it goes back to normal. and the display goes back to P R D etc. and then when you boot it the gears change themselves again.
So today I knocked the lever over to tiptronic and found that it sticks in your chosen gear and the 1 2 3 4 5 6 display does not revert to automatic and you can stay with just the paddles (or gearnob obviously)
This now means that when I'm bobbing :wink: down the motorway and I want to give it a little spurt but nothing too excessive instead of the automatic box dropping me from 6th to 3rd and my engine reving it's nuts off, I can simply knock it down just 1 or 2 gears and keep comfortable revs.
Clearly if I want to really give it a splurt I can use the kick down on the accelerator which does happen without the paddle shift.
Yep If I'd RTFM then I would know this already.
Any other little observations or quirks that people have found ?

Nope, its in the manual. Auto wipes if front wipers are on and reverse selected to aid visibility.
Your comments on dsg are spot on. Manual is fine most of the time, but occasionally it benifits from a "prod" in the right direction. :smiley:

Anyone please correct me if i am wrong(only had my DSG 2 Month's) but when you are in D mode and decide to use the paddles,are you not pulling in the +upshift too long which will revert back to D Mode,as if you look carefully/closely on the +paddle,you will see "off" and holding it in for a little while will switch back to D Auto.
Also,as i bought a DSG because i lost my left forearm in an explosion at work,i find i can use everything apart from the -paddle as my false/cosmetic arm does not have a wrist and wont reach,and the box will come down for me in + - mode if my arm is suffering and dont want to pull the stick back over for a downshift,but if i still want to upshift only,ie flappy paddle upshifts,computer/car shifts down for you, just have to try everything on the DSG Box.
Still have to use my wire controlled/harness false arm,to hold onto the bars on my converted Suzuki GSXR 10000K5,180 BHP Ferrari eater!!!!!!!!!!!
Life is such a twit sometimes,but you just have to try and get on with it,convert things and have fun.
