mk2 16v :D
-
Kool.. :)..Got 2 admit the 8v is just a bit more fun than the 16v around town though.. ;)
-
Not really no!
The 8v is exactly the same as the 16v at low revs, the 16v has loads more over 4000rpm.
That is my opinion and i've driven quite a few of each :D
-
Hey you probably right..it's all down 2 the car that ur in at de time I suppose..The last 16v I was in just didn't have that lets get up and go feel about it,and it was a mate's car and he's had a couple of good golf's..He went from 8v 2 16v and back to 8v..Put it this way the 8v and the 16v are both foookin great..But gettin back to my point I would still luv 2 have a Mk1 4 a day or 2... :P
-
Well it's not really my point..Me point was to any1 with a mk1 and a mk2 which gives yea the biggest ;D..My god am talkin 2 me-self..Time 4 bed me thinks.. :P

mk2 16v :D
I'll second that. Keep the revs up around 3200 and you will have a blast. :)
-
Im thirding that ;D
-
I rember my mk2 16v had loads of the grin factor get them over 3500 and thats when the fun starts ;D.
-
what you want is a transit.
The boot space is amazing ;)

At first, I wasn't a big fan of the Mk4 GTI's. I had a couple of test-drives in the 2.0 8v's and they just felt a bit heavy and sluggish.
Maybe it was just the particular cars I'd driven, but my Mk4 1.8 20v wipes the floor with them - I'm sure the Mk4 turbo's are even better! To be honest, I don't really know why VW stopped making the 1.8 GTIs. ???
My bro' used to have a Mk1 GTI, and that was a loads of fun. I must admit that my Mk4 doesn't have quite so much poke (cos its heavier), but once you get over about 3500 revs the 1.8 Mk4 really starts to shine. ;D but... If I could find a good example of a Mk1, I'd prefer that (for fun factor) any day.
