Title: CLUTCH PEDAL

After doing the head gasket on project 8v I started it up ok put my foot on the clutch and it dropped to  the floor as though theres no tension on it - the clutch still works with a small amout of travel left in the pedal - could it be a cable problem (ie engine bay side) or is it likey just to  be something at the pedal end ???
