Title: Corroded rear beam help
Post by: cняis on 13 June 2007, 21:36
How problematic is the following:

"Rear axle corroded around front mount bushes"

Im guessing this is where the beam mounts to the car? Is this a common problem and how can i overcome it besides buying a new rear beam £Â£Ã‚£

 :undecided:

i'd imagine it to be expensive to swap the parts over as im no mechanic.... anyway the last MOT advisory sheet (Nov 06, 8k miles ago) says the following:

So one place says bushes, the other suggest a corroded beam...?

beam from scrapy, poly or OE bushes your choice.. get em pressed in, you can do the swap yourself..

at leastim pretty sure you can, it all needs unbolting and dropping down like..

i think you need to get them to show you what the problem is, it might be rust on the actual boot floor?  Or they might be muppets and mean the rear wishbone bushes
