hi all. the ebay seller i got my gaz adjustable dampers gave me some new free apex 40mm lowering springs after a problem i was having with my eibach 8v springs not working. only thing is now, the front end sits higher, nearly an inch. i consider the springs now to be 'run in'. do you think this is because the 16v engine weighs more so the springs are harder to compensate? Paul

as standard 16v springs are generally a heavier poundage than 8v springs. but alot of aftermarket spring manufacturers dont adhere to this
if the springs are branded as a 16v only product then i would say they are a heavier poundage. but an inch height difference is a bit extreme!!

just checked the apex web site, and the springs are listed with different part numbers for the 8 and 16v's. the 16v springs also lower by a further 10mm
