Title: 2e Distributor
Post by: Maltloaf on 11 June 2007, 21:32
Hi,

Finally got my 2e engine back together all timing was spot on but it still would not fire up on all four. After having another look at the dizzy I found this was because it was from an AGG engine (ebay purchase ) and only sends one pulse rather than four. Is it possilble to strip the 2e Dizzy and transfer the parts from the PB dizzy to make it work? Any other ideas welcome.

Cheers

Unfortunatly I never got the 2e dizzy with the engine. I bought the one off of ebay about a year ago when I got the engine and have only just found that this is not for the 2e engine as advertised but the AGG.

I'm guessing that bit is meant to say AGG then?

Doh!, that would make it more sense.

Strip down the AGG Dizzy and transfer parts from the PB Dizzy.

i dont think so no, the bottom gear is wrong etc and I doubt it will all fit together well.  Just buy a 2e dizzy, look for early 2.0 8v MK3 GTIs and Passats :)
