anything which is api, acea approved!
normaly says api sj or sl / cf..... acea A3/B3

valvoline maxlife---- semi synthetic.
valvoline durablend----semi synthetic.
valvoline synpower------ fully synthetic.
castrol rs ------fully synthetic
mobil 1-----fully synthetic
vw quantum synta gold----fully synthetic.

all of theses oils are very good....
i use valvoline maxlife........
on the valvoline website there are feedback from people who have used just valvoline in there cars and have got very high over (263.000) miles from there engines! so i neednt say anymore!
but most top synthetics are the same quality and there is no difference in engine wear tests!

mobil 1 vs valvoline synpower and it said on the net that synpower was better!
ive alwaysed used good oil in the gti and its on 197000.......
if it doesnt have api sj/cf acea A3/B3 on the back of the bottle it isnt any good!

abit like formula1 supermarket oils! 20w/50 nasty oil!

Does any1 now exactly how much oil to put in a mk2 GOLF GTI16v.
My dipstick has been damaged and i'm not sure on the reading it may be wrong.

If i know the amount 2ltr etc... then i'll put that in..

Cheers,

 ;D ;D ;Dtheses valvoline questions  ;D

no i'm notnotnot! ;D i rave on about it because its good....good at stopping leaks and making a 197000 mile car go like the clappers! ;D
i'm sure this oil is the only thing keeping the engine from falling apart!!
