Post by: micalee on 10 June 2007, 11:32
I am due to sell my R32 in October time as I am off to Iraq (joy!!)

I am after some advice on valuation. The following spec is below:

Approx mileage will be 10k
56 Plate
Black Pearl (obviously)
DSG
Recaro's
No Sat Nav
Winter Pack
Luxury Pack
Coming home lights pack thingy!!
RS4 replicas or Original Alloys
Sunroof

Think thats about it - pictures below:

There's currently on on Autotrader with 5 dr, DSG, Sat nav, leather (not recaro) with 10k up. On privately for 25,650. So for a quick sale and bearing in mind yours doesn't have satnav or 5 dr, I would expect around 24-25k in october.

Done alot of looking, not sure what i have with it that swings it - i would say the recaro's favoured sat nav :undecided:

also, weighing up whether to sell with rs4 alloys on or the originals. I can either or, probably keep the ones on i have at moment

24-25K i reckon.

new 57 plate comes out and that always knocks a couple of quid of older cars.

Also put the original wheels back on and sell the others on Ebay or something unless they want the RS4's then you can perhaps strike a deal.  Otherwise keep it original.

Few guys here on the forum were after your RS4 alloys, you could possibly contact them if you dont plan on keeping them. Your car always looks stunning aswell, i reckon you could pull out 24-25k! Best of luck

Come October, some 4 months hence, I would reckon on £23k - £24k. Better option would be to sell sooner - like now - to maximise resale value, probably about £25k - £26k. Sell with choice of, or both sets of alloys.

One point on advertising it - don't stress the negatives, ie lack of SatNav - just list the positive spec. It is a very good looking car - try Pistonheads for some good exposure:

(see the 1000 mile new UK dealer R32 for only £22800 !)

Good luck in Iraq and keep your head down mate

Definitely sell with the original wheels and just point out that you have some RS4s if they want them. A lot of people tend to stay away from mods to cars, even something as simple and as innocent as new wheels.

I went for £24-£25K but try and push as close to £25 as possible me thinks.

Some good tips there! I have no drama putting the originals back on, would have to pay to swap the tyres over again though! Do you think it would make that much different advertising with the RS4s on?

I intend to advertise it on my website, then i can put loads of pics on.

Well, thanks again for the input.

I would definately advertise the car with the RS4 alloys on and also include pics of the originals with the advert. Give the buyer the choice of which ser and sell the others, or give the buyer the option to have both, for an appropriate premium of course

You will sell this car no problem if you advertise it now/soon and price it well.

Good luck,

Cass
