Hi guys,
Just bought a mk 4 1.4 golf, looks like a gti without the insurance:P
Anyways, i was wondering.. does the 1.4 model have rear speakers? i could have swore i heard them work a few weeks ago.. but then i noticed when i set my cd player to rear it was silent
I took out the cd player and noticed there didnt seem to be any cables coming from the rear (but i dont know if all the cables go through the one part??)
the door cards have a mesh over the as if its got a speaker underneath, i just dont want to have to take it off to find out..
So can someone tell me, does my golf have rear speakers and if it does why arent they working?
Cheers,
Scott

haha
im scared i take them off and break something and they wont go back on
im sure there are speakers lurking underneath.. i just cant figure out why they wont work??

Must confess I know nowt about Mk4's but is it a 3 or 5 door?
If its a 5 door you may have to take out the speakers to check the wiring.
Worst place is the door bellows.
Just be careful and use a thin bladed screwdriver and prise em off gently.

its a 3 door mate
-
My car started life as one of these and I can so they do not come with rear speakers as standard mate.
-
As its a 3 door then the wires will probly run down the sides under the cill protectors. So whatever way you go mate looks as if you are gonna have to pull something off!
its probaly easiest to start at the speaker and work your way to the H/U.
