Hi, just want a sanity check,
I need to have the front section of my exhaust replaced, and the fitters are quoting over £200, as the say it's 'an awkward job'.
Any ideas on if this is a reasonable estimate?

Sounds like they are talking about the down pipe for that price!

Down pipe is abt 70 -80 quid i believe from euro car parts if its a 8v 90 spec, plus fitting..
have a look in the subframe dropping question on the mk 2 page, as thats the problems they would have too

Sorry complete lack on info on my part :(
It's a 16v and by front section, yes I mean the downpipe.
Am going to get a few more quotes but at least it looks like it's ballpark.

Or, get a stainless manifold for the 200 quid and fit it yourself
