if I'm in neutral and I let the clutch out I hear a little 'knock' noise ...is this normal. It's not hugely loud, but just wondered if it's anything to be worried about.
-
I hear it too. Most noticable on the first depress with the engine off before starting her up.
-
hmm...I only hear mine when the engine is on and idling...I was worried incase it was some sort of bearing noise.
-
If my grey matter is woring OK, I'm sure this was discussed quite some time ago. I don't think anyone reported further problems, so it may well be just a design quirk of the manual boxes.
How many miles have you all done?
-
What happens if you press the clutch pedal down, does the noise go?
-
Its most proberly the release bearing that is making the noise, normal in most cases, but should be changed when the clutch plate is replaced as good practice.

I can understand a release bearing making a rumble type noise, but not a knocking, I was thinking of an idler shaft tapping. when their under no load they can chatter about a bit.
-
if its just a slight knock as you press the clutch, its nowt to worry about!!

it's a brief slight knock/rumble when I let the clutch out at the very end of the clutch depress..doesnt stay on..and can only hear it when I'm in neutral and letting the clutch out...I guess it cant be much to worry about
