Hi,
I want to replace my broken electric windows but I can't work out how to remove the mechanism.
I know in principle that you need to wind them down so you can free the plate from the windows, but they won't budge, (I'm assuming this is by design for security as my working set have the same issue).
I can't get the housing of the motor, if I could I might be able to wind by hand.
Any suggestions?

You could possibly cut the cable if you're replacing that bit too? That would allow the window to drop down

Sorted.
Got fiddly with a c-spanner and some brute force and ignorance.
Didn't want to cut the cable as I'm hoping to be able to salvage and repair, but need to work out what's wrong with the motor first.
Tomorrow it's onto the passenger side.

I too have electric window issues!
took mine to bits today, to raplce the reg and motor, only prob was the motor that I thought was a good is also broken - don't even squeak!
So I have to put the origianl back in!
Got it working but the window tips massively to the front when you are going back up, this then jams the window in the runners/door. I then have to drop it a bit and put it back using my hands as an ectra guide!
wasted about 4 hours this morning
