Title: Fuel Consumption

I own a MK3 Vr6 Golf 5 door AUTO and struggle to get 210 miles from a full tank of petrol is this right ??

what are your experiences of your VR6 ?

I was just calculating the mpg with the fuel prices sorry for the confusion :)

No you can get the same amount of fuel.

Just means you are paying more for it

Here is how I work how much it costs me (pence per mile) and average MPG.

I put ?38 worth of petrol @ 75.5p per litre

Therefore I get (38*100) / 75.5 = 50.33 litres

50.33 / 4.55 = 11.06 gallons

Next time I refuel I see how much milage I have done (say 410 miles)

Therefore 410 / 11.06 = 37.06 MPG

and (38*100) / 410 = 9.27 pence per mile

I work it out everytime i fill up..

I just check how many miles and litres ive used..

So:

410 (miles) / 50.33 (litres)
= 8.15 (Miles per litre) / 0.22 (litres in a gallon)
= 37.04mpg
Differnet way, same answer!
