The knock sensor senses pre-ignition(pinking or knocking) and retardes the ignition timing accordingly.
Do you have a problem with it?

The answer may be, the car runs fine 99% of the time but now and then the car seams as its being starved of fuel,i get a jerking when under hard use of the throttle. If i take my foot of the throttle then straight back on again its works fine.
Many thanks for the reply.

this just controls the ignition timming if pinking is detected it ajusts.....

fuel starvation...... how long is it since your fuel filter was replaced!

your jerking problem may be something to do with the throttle switchs on the throttle check them out for snapped wires etc....... you should have 2 of theses 1 under the throttle and 1 on top to check the 1 on top start car up and turn the throttle and then press the switch if the revs die down the switch is working.....
