Title: Fixed maint plan

Am seriously considering getting the fixed price maint, service and tyre plan from VW for my ED30 based on time and distance and 10k a year mileage. 

I have been quoted £31.75 a month by two different dealers, I am sure someone (Hully or Hurdy) got a similar deal for £25? Am i getting seen off?? :angry:

You should be ok - they all link up to the same database. It's obvioulsy largely dependant on mileage.

I got mine for about £20 a month, but thats a GTi on 11,500 miles a year and no tyres. I didn't like the idea of not being able to chose your rubber  :rolleyes:

Don't forget also that as you have not had the policy from day 1 they may weight the premium to account for the month or two you haven't been paying.

Paul, It was me who took out the Servicing. Maintenance and Tyre package :smiley:

I have just checked to confirm and the amount I pay for 10K miles per year is £25.67. I have also checked that they have ticked all three boxes on the agreement. So I would suggest that they are either trying to pull a fast one, or the price has gone up since I took mine out at the end of March (so I'd doubt it).

     I had it on my old Gti ( 05 reg ) and have not got it on the R32 now, reason being that I had everything including tyres and it only covers 'reasonable wear and tear' which is??? I was going down the A23 (dual carriageway) to Brighton in the Gti and I got the tyre pressure gong and light so I pulled over as soon as I could to find that I had gone over a nail and the rear nearside was flat.  I put on the spacesaver and went to my VW dealer and surprise surprise because I had driven around 1 mile to find a hard shoulder they would not cover the tyre and 197 quid later I had to.
     I then cancelled the fixed maintenance schedule and after a bit of a fight with VW they let me off with the cancellation waver.  If you are going to cane the sh!t out of your car and it will need serviced frequently then maybe the fixed maintenance policy without the tyres would be OK but if you occasionally drive the car hard but drive normally for the majority it would be cheaper to 'pay as you go'!  :smiley:

One other pitfall I see with this, is the oil.  If you are on the T&D regime, then you will merely get the lesser quality T&D oil, rather than the much higher spec/quality LongLife brew.
