but i just bought a mk4 golf gti turbo
well i think its the mk4 :)

i am wondering what bhp this runs at standard, my mate said you can chip them and get a big increse staright away ?

150bhp dude.

A lot of the petrol turbo boys are running different states of tune, so they will be able to advise on what power you can expect from a remap/chip.
