Title: Can Anyone Tell Me What This Is? Does?

In Engine bay to the left looking down there are two wires, one connected and one not connected:  Any ideas?

Not too sure, but i noticed one on mine when the grille was off the other day. It seems to be some kind of filament or coil, i was going to trace the wires but forgot! Mine was on an 8v digifant btw.

Its the dim dip coil  :wink:

Its what makes your headlights go from side lights to dim glow when you switch the ignition on, if its broke dont worry its not a MOT failure  :smiley:
