Title: First cosmetic mods? What u think

Thought i was finally time i put a pic of my car up
Just passed it's MOT with flying colours so decided to keep it and finally spend some money on it
I need your help guys, what do u suggest as the first cosmetic mods i carry out on the car, and suitable prices for it?
Oh and what do u think of the nice standard 16v  :smiley:

wheels and big bumpers would be my first toughts to!

But why not be different snd stick with small bumpers and some 13 or 14'' ultra wide alloys!

might be cool as!!

do not get big bumpers, keep it small bumpered, far nicer sight on the roads today to see a an original small bumper GTI.

set of 15's, lower it a wee hair, say 40mm max, and the later 5 bar grill (u can see it in rowlers sig pic) - that is all that wee car needs

has it got the 16v half tint rear lights?

i'm def going to stick with the small bumpers, love the classic look
what wheels would look good? do u think go really small, like 14's low profile, and slam it too the floor?
it get some 15's and just a moderate lowering

i'll have a play on that site and see what i like

I'd say lower it 40-60mm on the original wheels with 60 profile tyres rather than low, but maybe give them a refurb. Apart from that, keep it as is!

Maybe a Miltek system to finish off the back end?

Keep the small bumpers, 40mm drop, Milltek exhaust, either refurb the wheels or get some other OE style ones like RA's.  :smiley:

G60 Steelies. 40mm drop... realign doors and bonnet so they fit perfectly, a proper valet and absolutely nothing else!

Drop it 80mm (or more if you like scrapage  :evil: )
Some nice 15'' deep dish wheels of the mim or BBS variety
and some hella half tint 16v lights at the back if it doesnt alread have them. Oh, and while your at the back, a shiny milltek or similar twin round exhaust.

Monza blue, good choice of colour  :wink:  just dont try finding any replacement panels in that colour!

p.s   plain german pressed plates too!!

I agree with the majority, lowered on refurbed standard rims and maybe half smoked rear lights.
Loving the small bumpered small window gti`s.
Looking forward to the day when i can afford another decent one. Keep breaking the ones i get:embarassed:.

One was too rusty and the other one came to me in so many bits it was untrue and so much was missing, ebay hey :laugh:.

Still, good to see yours and keep it as close to standard as poss with just performance mods i say.

i just changed my wheels and blacked the trims and changed the grill as the old one had broke .mine looks ok lol will lower mine 40mm tho or just get stifer shoks dont no yet dont like big bumpers to meny about to day (if it comes small keep it small)
pic is befor i blaked the trims will change soon lol
