Lovely car Hully, I'm sure I've seen something similar recently
If there's a "Blues Brothers" club, does that mean we are the "Silver Surfers"?

Do yourself a favour and take the sticker out of the back window, as it looks a bit naff!

lol... thats always the first thing I do when I get my new car home.
My last new car was from Arnold Clark in Aberdeen - where they stick the stickers on the OUTSIDE!!!
Nice motor Hully... I hope you're happy with it?
-
That looks stunning, bet you think the wait was worth it now!?

Give me a chance 2007GTI, sticker is gone, the reason it was in the photos was that I had just picked the car up and stopped off on the way home to take some photos! Give me a chance guys, I'd hardly leave it in for long.

At least you can take the sticker out of the window - my dealer insist they brand the number plates

Congrats on the lovely car. Now that colour and rims looks hot

Lovely car hully, it looks great! I often take my sticker off the window at the garage in front of them!
I sold mine last week. I miss my lotus to much and will be getting another one! I have bought a mk2 16v for my daily driver so i have not left the brand!

Will have a look when I get the chance, but its not that easy with the plastic cover over the engine. Standard VW I'm guessing, whatever make they tend to use. Nothing special I'm betting.

Can I join the "Silver Surfers" too??
Current GTI = reflex silver met
Current RS4 = light silver met
Previous S4 = light silver met
Previous Vectra GSi = star silver met (whoops, shouldn't have admitted that one )

Before you pull off your engine cover, log on to Cromwell.co.uk, and order a small tube of Rocol AquaSil silicone grease paste.
When you eventually do pull off your engine cover, you'll probably find you leave half the rubber bungs behind on the engine. Carefully prise them off the engine posts, re-attach them to the engine cover, and then smear the silcone grease on the rubbers and mounting posts.
You can also use the silicone grease on all electrical connectors, as it doesn't rot the rubber like WD40 does. :nerd:

Your welcome.
Forgot to mention that you can (and should) also use silcone grease on all metal/rubber sliding parts on brake calipers, as copper grease will also rot rubber.

YOH!!!!

You and my father (Lubricant supplier etc) would get on very well.

As long as his last name isnt "Dover", and his first name isnt "Ben", and he doesnt just specialise in water based lubricants . . . .
-
No. He does greases, diesel and some other stuff. He has over 2000 products and has been in the business for over 14 years. He was a pilot and aircraft technician before starting his company.
Not sure what he sells though........ it makes no real sense to me

To be honest I cant remember my dad ever using his products in the cars...
I know he does all the servicing and lubrication and maintanence on his motorbikes of which he has 4.
i'm not complaining. Much like ManuGTI i am lucky enough to have successful parents (who of course spoil me)
