Title: sunsplitters
Post by: marcogolfo on 10 February 2004, 14:18
Hi I was just wondering wether or not sunsplitters were now classed as illegal?  Its just that I've just bought a 16valver and it has a sunsplitter on it, me thinks it may not go through the mot and it looks like its cemented on there somehow.  Me also thinks its gonna cause a right mess removing it

Well i just did my MOT 2 hours ago, I passed on everything except a wobbly headlamp which i just need to glue, I dont have a sunstrip but i have text in the same place, It all depends on where you go, I got mine done at a performance shop that specilizes in the repair, sell and tune up of jap cars such as supras where i know they will appreciate a modded car.

Hi guys i actually work for VOSA (The new name for the Vehicle Inspectorate) who are the government body behind the MOT scheme.  The actuall rule is that nothing should encroach within 40mm into the swept area of the screen. The swept area meaning the area that the wiper blade covers. However like a few of you have said it depends on who does the test !!! :)

Hope this has been some help.
