When the car is cold, i have to stop before i can select 1st gear (or apply loads of force & 5 sec l8r it engages).
This problem goes away when the car warms up (25mins driving)
I'v had my gearbox reconed 2 weeks ago, the box is better but i still have this getting into first problem
Also i did replace the white plastic ball joints
What could be wrong? as i don't have the problem selecting reverse instead of 1st????
Help guys

If the box has been replaced then the linkage could well be out of adjustment.

With the risk of being stupid, If the gear linkages were out would this not happen 2 me all the time & not just when the car is cold ???

No the gearchange can improve when the car warms up. If the gearchange was ok before the box was reconned then get the adjustment checked. Also check the bushes.

This problem existed before the gearbox was removed, but i will get the bushes checked this weekend err (is this were you remove the gator etc) or something completly different ???

mine is the opposite, when cold 1st is realy easy to get in but when warm I have to force it. Dose not make any sence to me?
