Title: mk2 16v leaking water

hi my mk2 16v broke down yesterday it's leaking allot of water seams to be coming form the main engine block . the water hasn't mixed with the old so possibly not the head gasket. i cant quite see the leak as the cam belt is in the way but you can hear a squeaking noise and  and see water coming out when you squees the water pipes.

does anyone have any ideas what it could be

Possibly your water pump has gone for a pearler.

yeah it'll be the water pump. not too bad a job to sort

i thought the water pump was at the bottom of the engine as this leak is at the top, as i thought waterpump and then realized the leak was at the top on the engine.

if its the top then i can only assume its blown the headgasket
