hi all,
if I do chip to upsolute, what happens when i get the car serviced...? Do they know? Will they put it back to normal?
-
I assume from people i have spoken if your car is still in the warranty period you might get some trouble if for example your Gearbox gave up the ghost. Remember when warrantys are the topic the garage will use any excuse to avoid a payout, and chipping it may just be that excuse, Thats why i went for the tuning box as i can remove it before service time,
I doubt they will be able to reset it as from my limited understanding i thought the upsloute cghips like the revo software used the free clocks of memory on the standard chip, so i don't think they can reset it, but i reckon they would be bale to see its there on the diagnostic machine,
What say other (more techie people)???

i meant blocks not clocks!!!

i am after chipping my 1.8T also.
where can i get this done ?
i heard there is a chip you can plug into the slot just above the cigarette lighter ?!?!
is this true ?
if so how can i go about getting it sorted ?

http://www.revotechnik.com/ go there and have a look see what you think buddy...

So the revo remapping can take your 1.8t to 200bhp with relative ease.
Does this assume standard charge cooling?
What's the stock intercooler on the 1.8T like, how far can you push it before having to add additional cooling? Increasing boost levels without decreasing charge temps is potentially a bad move.

Had mine re-mapped by Simon Coe from Upsolute/ He says that the software that he uses is invisible to VW's diagnostics. (Unless a majorproblem occurs) After working at a dealership for a few years it is very unlikely that they will hunt for ECU program changes as this proves costly in time. If your car's still under warranty as mine is then I's go for the re-map as opposed to the chip change.

Revo also do trail software which lasts five hours then it switches back to stock any revo dealer can do this. Good Idea if you can't decide between chippies.

Plus its free check revo website for availability
