Title: Changing Interior Styling on GTI....
Post by: maxamus on 23 May 2007, 15:37
I've been thinking about this for some while now.

What i'm proposing to do is change the standard footwell lights so that they are RED. Change the interior lighting on the roof at the front and the back to RED also.
Change the Standard mats in the front to ones which have GTI engraved in RED on them.

By Red i dont mean bright red, but suttle red.
Reason for doing this: Because i have a black GTI and most of the exterior detail is in RED (brake calipers, lights, and grill), i think this will tie nicely in on the interior.

Also thinking about putting "GTI" chrome badges on the front seat headrests (like how the Audi concept car does in "I, Robot") where currently GTI is engraved in the headrests.

Also a GTI badge on the chrome strip running above the golve box...

Your opinions please......

Change the roof spot lighting to red?

Suddenly I remembered the movie Das Boot, in particular the episode where the sub was preparing for a torpedo attack.

sounds like a wanky idea, and a waste of time and money for little or no benefit.

Sorry ........

Ditto!

I think maximus you are severe danger of becoming Max Power Maximus.
Sell the Clio and get something old and interesting to do things to like restoration - there you will have something unique. The Golf? Just leave it as it is and enjoy it with out doing silly little farty things.  :undecided:

If you're looking for that "bathed in a red glow" look, try a weekend in an Amsterdam knocking shop
