Has anyone had a car with a dump valve?

A mate had one fited to a Renault 5 turbo, it was cool for the first 5 mins but then the constant "P-TSSSSHHHHHH" was REALLY annoying.

Save the cash and put it to a chip or back box.

Any one fitted a backbox on their golf?

The MK5 GTi engine is not suited to an atmosphere (woooossshhhyy) type valve, I spoke to Bruce at Bailey motor sport a few weeks ago on behalf of a customer. he informs me it a complicated development project they might look at in the future.

I once entertained the same idea of putting an Dump Valve on the GTI... then I heard how it sounds on R32...
GTI has too much class to go around making noises like this. I just can't imagine GTI with a dump valve..
Dump Valves are reserved for rally cars and for rides like these:

haha! Yes!! Im indian i try and save my pennies! Aswell i enjoy driving but i cant drive in spain (legally) as i dont have the green card (special sort of insurance) Gibraltar is tiny, iv seen all of gibraltar before and i dont see the point of driving round Gibraltar constantly seeing the same people i see everyday so i just walk. Everything here is a 5 minute walk from everything and about running to expensive, money is not a problem (im not trying to boast) but at times i feel i need to give spending money a break...

Well, if you can afford it - it's all good!

And about people putting holes in your car etc. What the heck is wrong with people? Why all this envy? My boss warned me about this, too. Especially envy against foreigners. Here in Zurich, a big capital of finance, the city with the best standard of living in the world, can you believe it!!  I am getting a garage for my baby.

Maybe it was not R32, but it WAS a golf, I am 100% sure because after hearing this thing on a golf I decided that I would never ever treat my Ed30 to that embarrassment

Iv tried hard to get a private parking, a garage would be close to impossible to get and if i did it would be very expensive. A parking i could get in like a multi story car park but they could still attack my car there :(

Vincent Vega was right - the person who attacks another guy's car should be shot on the spot.

I was in Gibraltar in December/January - you can see photos on my Euro-Trip thread... just realised I still haven't finished my Euro-Trip thread! but I'll put the photos on this week.  I took my R32 there.  I absolutely loved Gibraltar - probably something to do with being a bit homesick - on holiday ?!  .

What a complete load of poo that is!

Forge Motorsports released a full Atmospheric BOV for the 2.0 TFSI Engine over 18months ago.

It's only complicated if you don't have a donor car to play with and understand how the VAG/Bosch ME9 ECU works.

If you really want one, here's the Forge product.

http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=1703&product=FMDVFSiT

It does work no problems. Friend had it for a while, but has since sold it. His reason...bit too chavvy for a Golf GTI.

Great on an Evo or Scooby doo, but in a grown up hot hatch like a GTI...nah.

Heard good things about milltek exhausts...

Yup, Milltek are undoubtedly the best out there.  Nice "mature" kind of sound, beautifully engineered, and their hi-flow sports cats are also proven to give noteable power gains.
