Title: How do you replace the Blue Temp Sensor

OK....this may be a stupid question for those in the know but just wondered how you replace these? Bought a new one today as my car is still having idling issues and thought it might be worth a shot. Unfortunately was almost dark when I got home so only looked at it for 5 mins and had a quick glance at the haynes manual.

Popped the connector off and removed the retaining clip but couldn't see how you remove the sender - does it twist off, pull out etc? Anyway I tried it, it didn't seem to want to move. As you can probably tell mechanically I am a bit of a doofus so any help would be greatly appreciated.

if you have taken the connection off and pulled the clip out, pull the sensor up. it seems like its just stuck on the "O" ring before doing it make sure ur engine has cooled down and to be on the safe side open the coolant bottle lid to release the pressure, refit the lid before pulling out the old sensor this way u will not lose as much coolant when putting in the new sensor

Yeh just pull it out, watch you don't lose the rubber o ring when the water comes out though!

Cheers - now replaced the blue sensor but idling is still a bit duff. Ran the car up to temperature, blipped up to over 3K 3 times and pulled the bluse sensor. The car then coughed, spluttered and stalled - is this good (does it mean the new sensor is working as don't think it did this before with the old sensor) ?

i changed the blue sensor with mine today, mine was idleing at around 1500 rpm, but once i changed it no difference was made, so i looked about and found a broken wire connecting the rev counter. have a search about for lose connections and earthing points.. if not, check yor idle ajustment.
