Why is this car so slugglish! Is there any ways of getting a power increase in this at all!

60 bhp u sure?! my polo 1.4 was more powerful...  (75 bhp i believe)

Ok being serious now, i used to have a 1.4 CL and it was slow as hell and thats how it'll always be  :(  
Theres not much point in trying to get enough bhp gain for that little bit of speed as you'll be wasting your money  :-\

LOL, yeh MK3 1.4s are 60 bhp, i know cos i currently push a 1.4 L  :o i don't even bother racing anybody except rover metros  ;D they are easy targets.  

Eggo, LadyCruzers right, don't waste your time and money trying to improve the performance of this car, just save up and get a GTi 16v which hopefully i should have by summer.

I had a 1.4 Golf Match as my first "proper" car ...  and OMG ... slow doesnt begin to describe it!

just drive with the wind... and try to go downhill!

My CL wouldnt go anymore than 75-80mph uphill LOL!!
