The Eibach pro springs are fitted!!!!!!!
Drove my usual way home last night - about 18miles of rough B road - my opinion during the drive - out loud - YES, YES, YES F#CKING YES!!!!!!! - Meg Ryan - you don't even get a look in!
Banashed is the soft period during role, repalced with surefooted direct responce and very minimal role, soaks up the larger bumps as good as ever and now handles like a dream. Also by removing some of the polish and providing some further through the pants feel that the car actualy feels faster. Negitive side - yes there is some, but a small price to pay for the huge grin factor - at slower speeds the frequency of the smaller bumps is sharper, but again on the move this is what provides the greater feed back. Overall the ride composure is retained and although bumpier is by no means uncomfortable.
The springs are black just like the originals so hard to spot come your service time!
Another benefit is the stance - 10 to 15mm does not sound much but it makes a huge difference IMO and yet still retains that factory look - infact the look the car should havre come out with in the first place.

Now i have no complaints about the car - its now the GTI that i expected - so don't be worried - as Starsky would say - 'do it'
-
The ride height looks spot on now IMO, nice one

Ollie your car looks stunning m8, luving the black rims! Would you mind giving me more details on lowering the car as im interested in lowering mine  Had a look on the eibach website but just couldnt spot or figure anything out...thanx
-
love your wheels.did you buy them or have them painted yourself.have seen exact same in Sheffield. Is it yours. If you had them painted.could you tell me where.
-
Thanks for the complements (on the cars behalf!).
The wheels are genuine Ed. 30 German Spec Rockingham wheels - you can buy them from the main dealer - not cheap mind! - Do the search on my threads and you will find more details /Pics. Not me in Sheffield - too far South!
I wrote to Eibach uk to gain more details on the springs - its just a matter of changing them and make sure you get a four wheel alignment - also make sure the garage you choose to do this has a machine that fits your hubs!
The Pro-Kit (as fitted to my car) lowers the car by 10-15mm front and rear and they are uprated on the standard springs by 25%.
The second kit Eibach offer is the Sportline kit. This kit will lowers the car 30-35mm front and rear and are also 25% uprated on standard springs - I wouldn't recommend this unless you use the car only on the track and are willing to change the dampers too (also you run the danger of looking chav imo!)
-
As above. Pro-Kit for road use.
-
so why does decking the car look chav?? :undecided: i love low cars, they look sweet!
-
So the kit i am after is The Pro Kit? Is it just springs? Excuse me as im not much into the Golf as yet as i have just got it :embarassed: How much did u pay for the springs aswell ?
