-Helps increase fuel economy
-Cleans carburettors
-Helps restore performance
-Reduces emissions "

Anyone had any experience with this?
Does it work?

I have heard mixed reviews, spanning from increasing bhp and mpg to causing masses of white smoke from the exhaust!

Help shed light on the situation!

i've never tried it, but nearly did, and everyone i know (including a bloke working for local volks dealer) said not to waste my time, and bang a full tank of bp ultimate or shell in... then go for a spin...

tbh, i have noticed a diff, i think.. extra mpg at least, and slightly cleaner running

if your head is all coked up (on the car  :wink:) then i suspect it will make a difference combined with a thrashing up to the limiter (when the car is warm)

what worked well for me is the old "water through the vacuum pipe when engine is hot" trick, that decoked the bugger and stopped my terrible pinking - plus it cost nothing!! :cool:

I tried it recently...noticed better mpg+slightly better idle, you get 2 treatments in each bottle, havnt done the second one yet as someone advised a 500mile interval between treatments.

Ive used it before and it seemed to work, the smoke out the back is all the crap being burnt off .

have used it regularly in all my own cars. Not all claims can be justified but it helps.

if you want to decoke then powerboost is pretty good.. We had a RR session in our local club and tried this stuff... loads of sh!te out the back pipe but gained 6 brake in an astra redtop. I know its not huge amounts but then we tried a standard airbox v cone v filter and swiss cheese airbox and the filter and swiss cheese came out on top.

So not always good advice to change to a cone filter when a modded airbox and decent performance filter can give better gains

just recently swapped over to super unleaded, after years of supermarket fuel and redex.
i can tell you that the car is running much smoother, less engine noise and no pinking.

i got this stuff for free so i used it

no diffrence at all.

Even BUSTED on myth busters :laugh:

My dad accidently filled mine with diesel. Ran better than even once we drained it all out.  :rolleyes:

Ok if you not got a cat on your system, more suited for older cars with carbs really, keep ontop of your oil changes, keep air filter clean-take out and knock against something firm and dry and beware of dust! Clean the plugs every oil change and you'll never need this stuff.  :wink:

used this on an old mk4 escort, certainly helped, this was the days before optimax and alike. just dont expect miracles tho

so i was just at the petrol station and thinking i would try out super unleaded, when i looked there was "Premium Unleaded" and "High Octane super unleaded" ... whats the difference :shocked: suffice to say i went for premium unleaded but now i'm not sure as the handle only said unleaded on it :huh:

Premium unleaded is just standard unleaded petrol 95 / 96 RON.  High octane super unleaded is regular super unleaded usually 98 / 99 RON and this is the stuff for a GTI.  You will get an extra 2% fuel efficiency (to offset the price) and slightly better responce and smooth running if your car is set up right.

Using super unleaded for a motorway journey will clean fuel system and you will notice a slight difference next time you drive.  :smiley:

premium unleaded is just normal unleaded? cos they had "premium unleaded", "high octane" and just "unleaded". dammit did i just fill up my car on normal stuff? :angry: i've always used normal unleaded but i though premium unleaded would be better

Yes it is, sorry.  :sad: go for super next time.  In some countries I think premium is super but not in the UK.

well i just filled the old mk3 up on some juicy high octane and i dunno if its like a placebo effect in my mind but im sure i can see a difference already --- seems quieter and smoother :smiley: well worth the extra couple of pence
