Could anyone please tell me if i can fit Audi 80 GT coupe throttle bodies to my beloved mk1, would it make much difference and is it a simple swap? Many thanks and keep up the good work.............

if you get a picture of it up, I will be able to tell you... but to honest just changing the throttle body will not really give you much gain... unless you change exhaust, cam, air filter, etc....

Is that engine you just described the 5 cylinder block? If so you might have the TB you want, you can visably see the difference in comparisson to your MK1.
Hole centres need to be the same but the centre section is visably larger looking from the outside. I got mine from a 5 cylinder passat in the end as all the Audi's i found had the wrong ones. You need to be carfull as some are bigger and look like they would fit OK but the butterfly positions are reversed. Big butterfly at the back or the front can't remenber what the standard MK1 is now.
To get the best out of it you could do with the engine work described as above but you also have to open out the standard throat of the inlet manifold as the butterfly is restricted on full throttle. Not something everybody has noticed. On a standard set up though you do get a nicer throttle responce.
Cheers Dom..................
