Title: Solid front engine mount - how to???
Post by: rowlers on 14 May 2007, 18:16
I'm fancying a solid front engine mount as I've heard good things about them!!!

But I dont want to pay for one

Anyone know if there is a diagram with dimensions etc.. so that a can have a go at making one??

I've had a quick search, and I know some folk on here get them made up and sell to forum members so there must be someone who knows the sizes!!!

(PS I won't be making any for sale - so nno toes will be stepped on - I'm just being tight!!!)

Lee cant you take measurements from the std one in the critacal places I can send you a close up pic of one for the shape etc as I bought an EIP tuning one from the states.
Let me know if this will help..... Or worst ways if you cant get the dimensions you need I'll take mine off and have a measure up for ya but maybe ask Joe nicely and see if he wont measure one of those ones he got stiched up with

Mine does when the engine is cold, not too bad when it's warmed up but that may be because i have got used to it!

i've posted this before, but i have one of joes custom mounts in my car and it's AWESOME. Power transfer is much better - no more engine rocking under acceleration.
Faster gear shifting, No worries of cracking expensive 4 branch manifolds.
The only time you notice the vibration is on start up.
don't bother ordering from the states etc when joe has exactly the same thing for sale here plus you'll be helping out a damn nice bloke in the process!

agree with the above, i got one of joe too, made a huge difference in the car, more noticeable than adding stainless steel manifold, as it stops engine jumping, well worth it id say
