As above, my bottom end is near to destroyed noticed it got worst today n just wondering is it easier to just buy another golf bearing in mind my car has no oil leak or rust, or by another engine or repair?

if i was to repair can any one tell me a rough estimate of what i will b paying out to get repaired or if i do it myself how difficult, dont really want to get rid of the girl shes had everything else new so far on the enigine n think it wud b a waste

I would find an car that has the correct engine, perhaps a "write off" hear it running, pay peanuts for it! inspect the clutch, change it over, give it a service and drive into the sunset!
I would avoid rebuilds or recons, too many pitfalls, with the exception of possibly dropping in a set of shells, and an oil pump into yours.. you never know!

Get a 2.0 bottom end. It's the perfect excuse!

why do you think its going to pack up?  :undecided:

when my bottom end went on my fezza yrs back it ended up locking up and seezing sending me loverly into another car, plus it sounds really rough i was thinking of changing the oil to somthing really thick n try n get rid of most of the knocking, knowing the it wont fix the car but it will make it less rattley,

P.S can any one tell me how hard it is to fit a vr6 in to a mk2 bearing in mind i will b going from carb to injection?

thank J
