Title: GTi badged?

Hi fellow VW Golf GTi owners  :smiley:
I am having a dispute with my insurance company
over wether my car was originally fitted with a GTi grill badge or not

I know it had the badge prior to a crash but they are saying my model was not fitted with the badge?
anyone can show me something so i can know for sure ?

VW Golf GTi MarkII    1st registered on a G plate  09/03/1990

Mine is also a G-plater and has the badge.  All of them (8v) did.

Yes it should have a badge! Trouble is they are obsolete and is probably why they are arguing the toss. You will have to get one from ebay or a breakers and get them to reimburse you.  :smiley:

yep they definately had a badge, cant believe they are arguing that it doesnt!

Most insurance companies are a pain in the back side! They all had them from the factory I thought. And 16v had the 16v badge on the glove box.

I have contacted a main dealer and the record can not show the Badge details
the age of the car apparently records go up to 15 years?

Any one can show any further proof so i can show the insurance company?

I've looked on ETOS (VW parts catalogue) for you and its not shown, probably becasue they are obsolete.  Side and rear are shown and this maybe where the insurance company are coming from.

You could send em original literature:
