Title: help me please polo 1.4 p reg basical same as a golf

i just got my girlfreind a polo but has 2 problems one can u adjust the gears because it hard to get in 1st and 2nd sumtimes and also the revs seem to bounce alot and drop 2 low and sumtimes stalls when u pull up at lights any idea please
