Title: Ride height?
Post by: Classic16v on 10 May 2007, 13:39
I've got a couple of questions about ride height in my Mk2 16v - supposedly the guy I bought it off took the suspension back up to standard height but I've been told that it might be lowered. Does anyone know what the standard height was on these (1990 model) and how I'd go about comparing it to what it is now?

Also, with people in the back it sits really low so it's been suggested that I upgrade the springs to resist the compression a bit more. I've been told to go for some Eibach springs but I don't want to lower it any more than it is now because I want to be able to carry passengers and luggage. Does anyone else experience problems with the ride height when carrying people? Can anyone get 5 people in their car for a journey and if so what height are the running on their suspension?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers for that.  Will Eibach springs be stiffer than the stock ones, therefore being able to hold more weight in the back? Or won't there be much difference?
