my mk2 squealing, ive changed the belt on the alternator n tightened it up but its still happening , is it something to do wih the water pump ? im new to engines

mine squelsed like a turbo/supercharger..found out the cam belt tensioner was far too tight. sdee how slack your cambelt is...

I just spray some wd40 near the pulleys and it runs quieter. dont spray it on the belts

its not mega tight it seems just right , the old one was slack as , is it the belt thou cus im not certain its tht, ive been told to replace the water pump i think  :undecided:

what about teh cam belt?is that really tight? if you do blue's suggestion atleast you can figure out where it's coming from. :smiley:
