Title: Big Brake Conversion
Post by: -scott- on 08 May 2007, 20:47
Hey all,
so im wanting to give my golf a bigger brake set up front. Its a mark 3 1.8 driver with standard disks...i think they are 239mm,maybe 234,small anyways at the moment and am wanting to increase in size.
Im looking for a help on what ones i could use as a donar though. They need to be 4 stud so i can keep my alloys and stil stay with the 4 stud on the rear.I would have put on a set of gti or vr6 ones although they are 5 stud and thats where the problem arises.
I will be converting to bigger disks and obviously new calpiers, well not brand new but you get what i mean.
 Any help appreciated
   Scott

Think you have to look at Mk2 discs as all the bigger Mk3 discs are 5 stud.

I think Ibiza Cupra 20 VT's are 4 stud, might be worth a look, not sure what size discs they have.

do you have caliper carriors on you driver or fixed carriors

if fixed you have to change the hubs

if you got calliper carriors you can add what ever you like
