I am back, in march 2006 i first came onto the forum to introduce myself, but never came back..Alot has happened since then, had a baby, getting married soon. blah blah..:
Anyway, hello again and hopefully i will stick around this time.
I bought a MKV GTi in March last year and amazingly i still have it. Still very happy with it and i have no intention of selling. I have been driving 12 years and have had 17 cars, so i tend to get bored quickly, but this one seems to have something special!!.
The car is a 55 plate MKV GTI, laser blue.. spec: 17" alloys (which i want to change), Climate, leather, DSG, Heated seat, folding mirrors, winter pack, armrest, xenons.. hmm i think thats it.
Things i dont like about the car: You cant turn on rear fogs without the fronts, the rear windscreen wiper has a mind of its own, and a buzzing/rattling sound (not too loud) from the left side somewhere.
I like: the way it handles, the get me out of trouble performance, the style, looks, and surprisingly comfortable on long distances. Its a great car, and its more fun than the E46 M3 that i had.. which was only 10 months.
anyway, HI, and here is my car:

btw has anyone got RS4 alloys on their GTI, i am thinking of getting them but not sure.
cheers .. speak to all soon!!.

Stunning choice, great colour! lol

Car look's fantastic, VW should never have dropped that colour IMO.

i totally agree. i Heard they dropped, such a shame. I was just about to close a deal on an Astra VXR when i spotted this one for sale on the net, and it was the colour that sold it to me. Strange as i was a little nervous about buying a "hot hatch" as i have always had larger cars, but this is on is great. I also test drove a Focus but the Interior let that down for me. I love the Audi/VW styles and feel!.

Exactly the same for us
We have got the Monza 18" alloys, and I absolutely love the look of them, but would think twice if speccing again.
I tend to think I am v careful with alloys, but between us we've kerbed 3 of them in about a year, and Wicked Wheels who I have always found excellent, say they can't guarantee the lacquer they apply after a refurb not peeling off again v quickly, so they don't want to touch them.
I would be tempted to find a repairable alloy.

thx for the cool comments on my car!.
@alexRWD, i will upgrade my wheels to 18", i just think it gives the car a better look. I will probably go for the Monza's, but very tempted with the RS4 reps, but dont know what they look like, cant find a pic anywhere.
heres what i got a shop to do ---> (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a92/sparkyb999/gti5.jpg)

I think the RS4's would look the Mutt's, make a change from all the Monza 2's .

Righty, who has the padlock and chains - to keep you form escaping the clutches of GolfGTI.co.uk !!!
Nice looking car, BTW.
Two points, firstly, a teeny weeny suggestion - open your bonnet, and unwind the outer left rubber buffer by a quarter turn! Secondly, I see you have Conti SportContact2s - how do you find them?
