Title: Wishbone bushes

 Hi everyone,looking for some help here,I have recently bought a 97R mk3 16v,and the only thing done to it so far has been 4 new tyres,after finding the o/s/f worn through to the canvas on the inside edge.

 So i got 4 new tyres and then got the tracking and camber adjusted(the guy said the whole front end was a mess,toe and camber miles out),and the car certainly feels more precise now,but there is another problem.

 When i turn hard left at any kind of speed,the o/s/f corner seems to give way a little.At first i thought the guy who did the tracking/camber had left something loose,but there is no movement in the wheel when stationary,and all the nuts and bolts seem to be tight.

 There is also a slight knock from that side,roughly from below the footwell,where i am guessing the wishbone rear bush is bolted to the car,the bush doesn't look too good,possibly one of the four joins in the rubber is torn,i cannot be sure.So my question is,..

 Could a knackered wishbone bush cause those symptoms?


And if it is the wishbone bush,and i spend the coming weekend replacing wishbones,bushes,and ball joints,...

 Is there adjustment in the location of the 3 ball joint fixing bolts?

And if there is adjustment,and i am very careful measuring the wishbone that comes off,will i need to get the camber/tracking done again?

Or is the camber/tracking set up possibly incorrect due to the worn bush?

A lot of questions i know,any help gratefully received.

the rear bush on the arm's are prone to going...and it does sound like your's has which are fairly easy to replace if you have a vice/pressing tool or you can buy the full arm. i would be surprised if you didn't need to get the car retracked after any suspension work like this.
