Title: Buckled alloy help
Post by: blinky88 on 06 May 2007, 17:30
Hello i've recently had some 15" BBS alloys fitted into tyres and then onto my mk3 and have realised that one of the alloys at the rear is slightly buckled. Does anyone know if this is fixable, and if so do you know anywhere in the Cardiff / South Wales area that can do this?

Thankyou!

I had my wheel alignment and camber done at Wynnes Motors (Birchgrove) and asked if they knew of
any wheel refurb people. They gave me this phone no: 07757 973792 (Alloy Smart)

They're based in Bridgend, but they come to your house and pick your wheels up, refurb them and
drop them back to yours for £35 a wheel. I don't know if they repair/weld alloy wheels but I would
imagine they do (for an extra cost of course).

Wynnes Motors use this company for their clients and reckon their amazing, with a quick turnaround
of two or three days.

thanks for this! funnily enough i was getting a spare wheel put on yesterday so i could get my alloy fixed and the guy who was fitting the spare wheel recommened alloy smart  so i will definatley be giving them a call!

also incase you were wondering, the tyre kept going flat due to a tiny hole in the alloy when it got buckled. so it's a wielding job

If you do get all 4 wheels done, do some before and after pics.  If they're good, give them a mention in the good guys section, because it's always handy to know where to get wheels done.

you no change your own wheels like? i hope it was free...

yeah most alloy wheel refurbishers would be able to sort that out for you, what put me off fixing mines on my last car after bending two of my wheels (and the rear axle :undecided:) was that i wasn't convinced that they'd be near as strong as before
