Title: MK1 Idling Problem
Post by: SpearMintTom on 05 May 2007, 20:59
My MK1 has recently been tuned had a new exhaust system fitted (SuperSprint), it drives SO much better its like a completely different car.. except it starts idling at a perfect 1000rpm everytime - then shoots up to about 1900-2000rpm whilst idling and I sound ridiculous - if driving about town she quickly gets VERY hot..

Can someone tell me where the idle screw is - I suspect I may have a vacuum leak as well :(

Idle screw is normally on or near to the throttle body.

In to decrease, out to increase, you'll know when you screw it down coz it will sound like it wants to stall. good luck.
