Title: cutting out when cold.
Post by: Ciaran on 06 February 2004, 11:39
car went mad yesterday after about 2 mins of driving it.
i came off a round about put my foot down and it cut out and actually made the car slow down. i then stopped for a min and it started fine and was ok untill the same again about 1 min later.
when it cuts out no lights come on and the rev counter goes sky high then back down.

i got hame and had a look and discovered a loose pipe between the air box and the point the air goes into the engine. put this back on and it is fine so far but onlyt done 10 miles since but have to drive 60 miles down a duler this evening and am worried it may happen again!
would this pipe be the cause of these problems?

i presume its the pipe running off the intake to the ISV, if this becomes disconnected the car will stall

no basically between the air box and the silver bit where it meets the engine. a pipe had come off still no problem had the car out for a blast over dinner time and gave it a good clearing out.
