Next stop - Revo re-map, maybe lowering a couple of cm (I do like the way Edition 30s sit).

dont wreck your nice looking ride, dont risk your Vw warranty just yet, why on earth does it need to be any lower???.The thing will feel like its going over bumps like a tesco trolley! , shame to ruin a nice looking car

Now that's what I call black! Very nice looking car.

Great looking car. Black is a great colour - just takes that bit extra effort to keep it looking good.
Can I ask about your Sat Nav please - did you buy from an ebay seller - did you get dealer to install and did it come with all the
necessary bits and DVD etc
Cheers

Yup, it's a pain to keep clean. I had a white one for 5 days but it had an engine fault and i threw it back at them.
I got the nav off and ebayer called dj.kolia - quite a good guy, helped with technical questions etc. I got the unit, a new GPS antenna and a copy of the UK map disc. (although you can easily get a genuine disc for £80-£100). It is a straight install as all the relevant wiring/plugs are in place in all mk5 GTIs. I have a bluetooth car kit and ipod thing intalled as well and everything works great. It's better if you have the Highline computer as you get directions on the red diplay between the dials but it's ine if you don't. I took it to my local ICE experts and they installed it in 1.5 hours for £50. Easy peasy.

What are those small dials in front of the windshield?

Looks very nice, I should be getting a united grey 3dr next week so will post pics for comparison.
Had to cancel Black 5dr on order from allbrandsnew as they kept inventing stories about wheel corrosion (on a new car?!) and putting the delivery date back.

It's a Road Angel.

Re the satnav - I notice you've still got the standard bee-sting aerial fitted - will the satnav still work with the long aerial or do you need the small one fitted?
Contemplating retro-fit satnav but dont feel confident with replacing the aerial if I have to :/
(and yes you're right - black is best) ;)

When you retro fit, you'll need a separate new GPS antenna. If you get a unit off Ebay the seller should supply one of these for you. I fitted it under the centre dash grill (the one that looks like a cool centre speaker but isn't) but this has a metal content and totally destroyed reception. Now it's in the top corner of the windscreen under the headlining. You'd never know it was there.
Easy peasy and nothing to do with your original aerial.

Thanks for that  Can you post a pic of it (assuming it's not actually in IN the headlining)? Am I right in thinking its like one of those flat rectangular strips that you can stick to the windscreen outta the way?

Don't think you'd see much in a photo. It's a little square box about 2cm by 2cm. I know you can get different ones though. The crucial thing is to allow it as free an access to the open sky as possible. Ideally it would be great in a corner of the dashtop if that didn't annoy you too much. No point buying nav if it doesn't work as well as it could.

Next stop - . . . maybe lowering a couple of cm (I do like the way Edition 30s sit).
Actually, the standard GTI, and the Ed30 share identical suspension, and identical ride height. There is a very intersting discussion on Vortex, actually stating that for road use, the standard OEM set-up handles better than lowered. That is because lowering kits bu&&er up the geometery. :nerd:
Nice car BTW.
