Howdy! Recently bought my first mkIII Gti. Hoping to get it back to A1 standard, mabye do some mod's, nothing big though.
'94 M Reg. 70k. Pretty sure it's had a smash in its time, but i don't think it was a bad one - had its wishbones etc replaced, and a set of 17's put on it presumably after the smash. Drives perfect so far... touch wood.
A few things i've noticed. Not sure if they are common probs on mk 3's or not.
Passenger side window doesn't work. Occasionally I hear the click when i try it, and I have once heard everything working as if it should go down. All that was missing was the window actually going down. The previous owner said it was a relay switch - but he didn't really look as if he knew for sure. Any ideas?
It's got wolfrace voodoo II's on it. Standard suspension. It is a lot higher at the front than the back. Presumably because of the 17's?? Looking to get a set of 16's i think. Possibly BBS or some deep dish ones if I see some I like.
Brakes are shot. Disc's are wrippled on the front and back. Gonna change all discs and pads v soon. Any ideas? Had a quick look on GSF site. Is this the best place for genuine parts aye?
Also, I have noticed I have two aerials........ The one on the front of the car is not connected I think. Well, when i put a replacement aerial on the one on the back of the roof, the radio sorted. Anyone got any ideas why it has two??
Any info would be great. Cheers guys.
