Title: Please price my car
Post by: tajbhambra on 03 May 2007, 16:22
Mk1 1983 1.8 Gti Black all standard on 'A' plate
No rust - good bodywork
taxed and tested
drives fine on 122k - i can pretty much vouch for these miles given the receipts I have. many new parts - exhaust, disks, pads, etc..
no oil/coolant leak, usage or smoke. mature owner

small rip on drivers seat

I haven't a clue as to what I might get for it.

£1,000,000 was probably a bit high really, but £200  :undecided: thats way too low

somewhere in between will be spot on, what a helpful bunch we are

a car is only worth what some one is willing to pay, not the same as an agreed value with an iinsurance company.

basically, the fewer owners, the more history, the originality, no prevous damage, the more it is worth but ebay is a good guide for classics
start it at a £1 and let fate decide but a tidy a plate mk1 in black wont be worth less than a grand in my opion might be as much as 2 but with out seeing a car in the fllesh and knowing the provence just a guess
pictures speak a thousand words

mk1 GTI in standard form in good working order are going from 600 - 1500 - the lower price car needs welding and some repairs and if MINT with low mileage 2000-4000... get some pictures up of the outside, interior, include boot area and engine bay and if poss shots of side seals (as this is known area for rusting)

200.00 - wishful thinking Stu....

Here is a good guide for you - http://www.vwgolfmk1.org.uk/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=1
