well it turns out that the fuel tank is full of sh't! (that old chestnut!! lol) so getting a new tank put in, lets hope its the end of my troubles!! getting a new lump next week, well if we can fit it! lol
-
theres this tank on this car mate if you get stuck, i wont need it for diesel swap
-
cheers mate, but i am just going to get a new one! at least i know it should last a few years! lets hope it bloody sorted when i get it back! what day next week is best with you buddy? i will set off so that i get to yours for about nine in the morning, that way we have the whole day to do the swap!
-
ill check forecast mate and get back to you! gonna have to have one last blast in it before i swap em'
-
dont blow it up! lol
-
as you are changing your tank, flush the pipes too
connect a pipe from the pump into a jar of clean fuel, disconnect the pipe from the fuel filter on the metering head and put it another jar. run the pump for a bit
also change that big fuel filter
and change the filler neck for a stainless one. it's the filler neck that creates all 90% of the crap in the first place!!!
you could clean the existing tank though, and it would probably be ok
-
cheers for that mate, i am just paying a garage to fit the tank, they said they will change the filter and all that!
-
happy days
get the injectors cleaned (or even replaced) and you will be fuelled up to the max.
-
this is my problem, but if i change the tank how do i get the car started again? cos it wont start at all!?
ongrats on getting yours sorted!

well once the tank is on i guess once you start the car the fuel preshure should come back up? :undecided:
-
i have pressure atm
-
