Steel Grey for me.
Me too.

In exactly the same situation as you matey, came to the following:
Red - Seen in the flesh - A little to tacky IMO
White - Driven and seen in the flesh - Surprised, different quiet liked it, just dont have the balls to get it
Silver - Havent seen, tho personnally dont like silver on the GTi (no offense to silver owners)
Grey - Nice, easy to clean, havent seen a ed30 in the flesh, though maybe slighty boring?
Black - Seen in the flesh, great when clean which is hard work to do.
I got it down to grey and black, finally I think ive tipped to the dark side and goin for black.
-
Hmm, black IMO is a pain in the ar** to keep clean, looks great when it comes out the showroom mind. I, and obviously this is biased, still think silver is the best colour. Doesn't show the dirt, hides any stonechips you may pick up, looks classy and understated and best of all, looks really  on the Ed30. However, it does show tar spots, which is a real pain over winter. Oh, and steel grey does look pretty  too, but does show the dirt quite badly, but not as bad as black.

Mines black.
When its cleaned, polished and waxx'ed its the nees knees!
Mind you its hard work keeping it clean
Expect to wash it once a week
-
What ever you do...DO'NT get silver
I've got silver and want to keep it more exclusive..so the more I recommend it, the less exclusive it is
Ooooohh...errrrrr....does that mean I've just recommended it again or not!!!
-
bright YELLOW OR PINK would look good
-
go for white...you know it makes sense!
-
In the words of Henry Ford, you can get any colour you like, as long as its Black !
:smug:
-
lazer blue, shame they dont make it in this colour

Yup, I would have had blue too if it was an option
-
Steel Grey or Silver as they're easier to keep clean.
White and Black are cool though.
I guess that doesn't help at all!
-
White for sure. And its not that hard to keep clean.
-
I went for Steel Grey - I wanted black, but after having 2 black cars I couldnt be bothered with the hassle of keeping it clean... but black does look amazing when clean and polished.
I think the white looks much better in the ED30 than the GTi as the coloured valance / skirts look great. When I first saw the white car in Phopes signature, I didnt like it - but once I saw the photos of his car I think it looks brilliant. I just wouldnt have the balls to get one!
-
Steel Grey - the Pescara wheels look great with this colour.
-
We need pics!!!!!
-

This is the 1st time I've actually seen a proper picture of a 3rd Steel Grey car!! I'm glad I chose it now - looks great.
Nice one Alan

Very nice, looks classy IMO.
-
Actually... Alan - do you have any more pics of this car?
Like I say, I've ordered a 3dr Steel Grey one, and never actually seen a decent pic of it till now. I wouldnt mind seeing what the front / back look like too!
Hopefully it will settle after some mileage, cause it looks a bit high in those pics. I'll maybe try and get 5 people in the car a few times to help 'loosen' it off!
-
Something like this perhaps...(http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s175/AlanH_photos/ED302.jpg)

Or maybe this. Sorry I can't do better at the moment - I went over to a VW dealer in Stoke to take a look at the Steel Grey Edition 30 earlier in the year. Took delivery of mine two weeks ago, and haven't got around to taking any pictures yet.(http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s175/AlanH_photos/ED304.jpg)

Thanks for that... if you could post some real life pics when you get a chance I'd be very grateful though!
I'd also quite like to see what the tints look like on a grey car. I ordered them, but I'm scared the car looks like a van or something! I am currently driving my girlfriends brothers old car - an 04 Fiesta Ghia - and it has rear tints. The car is black and looks good... I find them great in the dark cause they save bright lights in your mirror!
-
OK - a few quick snaps taken today after washing! Tomorrow is Autoglym Day (weather permitting).

Brilliant - thanks for that. Its just making me jealous though as I've still about 6 weeks to wait
Certainly looks lower than the one in the showroom
